NYALI GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Located in upmarket  Nyali in Mombasa, the Nyali Golf & Country Club is a traditional course, surrounded 

by the lush vegetation typical of the coast and  inhabited by funny monkeys hanging around the fairways.

Designed by Monty Lowry and opened in 1958, it has been home to numerous international competitions.

The short rough and numerous doglegs offer even the most experienced player the chance to be 

challenged in a very competitive game. 

The greens are particularly appreciated, in fact,  besides being perfectly kept, they are among  the fastest 

ones in Kenya. During championships they regularly exceed the Stimpmeter of 10 feet.

There are five par 3 which may at first seem tricky, while  the monsoon winds that blow on the coast for 

most of the year may be either your best allies or the worst of the obstacles;  they can sometimes make a 

simple par 4 as  insidious as a par 5.

Certainly few players have recorded a score below the par of the course (71).

The Nyali has a 280 meter practice course, two putting greens and a chipping green.

Finally it has a unique feature: a short, 6-hole course par 3 for juniors
